Staying Healthy

So you've decided you really are sick of being sick. And you're sick of seeing the inside of your doctor's office. And you're sick of opening your wallet again and again, while accomplishing nothing. No results. Lots of money spent, but no results. And you're catching on to the fact that, this is exactly the way the medical community in this great country of ours wants it. You get sick, you pay them to treat you, you stay sick ... but your sickness is "managed". And you generate lots and lots of money for your community of medical care providers.

If you've read anything else on our website, you know that our company doesn't buy into the western medical care philosophy for treating illness. You've discovered that we have a better idea, and that we're committed to helping our customers learn everything they need to know to break free of the western medicine mindset and money trap. You already understand that part of our reason for being here is to help you regain good health and retain good health without the assistance of (or the cost of) an M.D.

We promised in the SOS For Health Insurance section of our site that we'd provide you with some more tips on how to get healthy using nutrition instead just covering up symptoms of illness with prescription drugs. We told you a story about the benefits of using zinc instead of Zinc Complex or Valtrex. If you haven't yet read that page, you might want to start there. If you're all read up and you're anxiously awaiting those tips, then read on, because we won't delay another minute before providing you with some of our favorites.

Did you know that B complex B Vitamin Complex will begin to heal psoriasis. Tar baths, prescription creams, and drugs will not. Why ? Because dermatologists treat the skin instead of remedying the nutritional deficiency which caused skin cells to go haywire in the first place. To further improve psoriasis, eliminate products containing white sugar from your diet. If you're diligent, you can eradicate psoriasis. One of our associates was covered in psoriasis when she was 18 years old. When she discovered the benefits of nutrition in her mid-20s, her psoriasis disappeared entirely. She hasn't had a single break-out in almost thirty years.

Acupuncture, which costs approximately $65 per visit, dissolved painful scar tissue for Nicole, who was a 44-year-old post-hysterectomy patient. Acupuncture cured her, after she'd repeatedly formed scar tissue prior to trying it as a last resort. Acupuncture enabled Nicole to avoid the major discomfort and expense of a third corrective surgery, which her gynecologist insisted was her only option.

Ever increasing numbers of people take drugs now for slow thyroid function (hypothyroidism). Did you ever stop to wonder why? Well, scientific studies have shown that fluoride actually damages the thyroid. Yes, the very same fluoride contained not only in our toothpaste, but also in our drinking water. This country has promoted fluoride for forty years now, and after decades our thyroids can no longer fight the toxicity. But instead of advising patients to avoid fluoride so the thyroid can heal, doctors prescribe a drug (usually synthroid) to imitate the function of a healthy thyroid, which a patient must then take for the rest of his life. Doesn't it make more sense to just avoid fluoride? Why not use a proven herbal formula for a few months to restore thyroid function, instead of letting the most important gland in your body die and being on a drug for the remainder of your life?

Oh, since you're no longer using fluoride, remember to take alfalfa or drink hot cocoa to prevent plaque formation on your teeth.

Alfalfa and aloe provide very encouraging results for people who suffer from arthritis, and are dramatically less expensive than Vioxx or Celebrex. Alfalfa is a natural diuretic, which prevents fluid build-up in joints and resultant damage to joint tissue. Aloe juice Aloe Vera Juice kills inflammation, which eats away at joint tissue if nothing is done about it. A gallon of aloe juice can cost between $7 and $30 depending on enhancements added to the juice. Drinking aloe juice daily for a month minimizes inflammation for several months. A bottle of 700 alfalfa tablets cost $30, Alfalfa Tablets, and last for months, depending on how many you take per day.

As added incentive to think seriously about restoring your health through nutrition, and specifically regarding use of alfalfa instead of Vioxx, you should be aware that Vioxx was pulled off shelves several years ago after thousands of users suffered heart damage. Federal investigators later discovered that the manufacturer had hidden negative research to get Vioxx approved by the FDA. So what else are they hiding from us about the supposedly safe drugs that millions of us ingest daily? Don't believe for a minute that hiding negative research in this case was an isolated incident

Speaking again of alfalfa, it just might be considered a "wonder-food". In addition to retarding plaque build-up on teeth and alleviating edema, it also detoxifies the body. It can prevent illnesses caused by toxic substance overload. You might want to keep some on hand.

Here's a good tip for menopausal women. For hormone replacement therapy, instead of taking the drug Premarin, which is made from horse urine, (disgusting!) women can use food-derived hormones. Yams, for example, are rich in natural progesterone. And progesterone is the hormone replacement women actually need, not the estrogen that's prescribed by gynecologists. To put this in easy to understand terms, the female body produces 3 different kinds of estrogen. Two of them are bad estrogen, and one of them is good. When womens' hormonal systems run amok during menopause, gynecologists usually prescribe a BAD estrogen. (Premarin contains bad estrogen.) So women, who are already inundated with bad estrogen from the environment, (styrofoam, microwaved plastics, parabens in shampoos and lotions, etc) are prescribed even MORE bad estrogen by their doctors. The result - a steady increase in new breast cancer diagnoses for decades. Until 2003 that is, when prescription estrogen use declined dramatically. Suddenly, so did the number of new breast cancer cases. And western medicine was forced to admit a connection between prescription estrogen use and breast cancer. Wow ... what a blow to drug companies when millions of women stopped taking Premarin. Zillions of dollars down the drain every month.

Speaking of estrogen, red wine is a natural source of one of the bad estrogens and can bring on hot flashes or make them more intense. We thought you'd want to know.

Speaking of hormones, for the last decade or more, male babies in this country are being born with abnormally small genitals and girls are beginning puberty as early as age 8, due to the injection of hormones into cows and chicken to get them to market faster. Forty years ago, girls didn't begin puberty until age 12-13. The moral of this story ... eat as little meat as possible, or at least eat organic meat.

Next, we'll tell you about an incident involving an avid tennis player named Donna, who at age 50 fractured a bone in the top of her foot. Donna had only a hairline fracture, but it hurt like mad and the doctor told her she couldn't play tennis for three months, which made her very unhappy. Due to the location of the fracture, her doctor didn't put a cast on her foot, but he recommended that she stay off of it entirely. To help her foot heal faster, Donna decided to try a calcium supplement she'd seen advertised in a mailer. The makers of the supplement claimed that it not only prevented loss of bone density, as any quality calcium supplement should, but that it actually restored bone density, just like prescription drugs Actinol or Fosamax.

At a cost of $26 for 150 calcium tablets, (5-month supply) the calcium was a far better bargain than Actinol or Fosamax, which both cost in the vicinity of $100 per month, and which both can cause health-damaging side effects. Recent scientific testing has determined that long term use of Fosamax causes disintegration of the jawbone, and drug users are losing their bottom teeth.

Speaking of side effects, here are some other known side effects caused from taking Fosamax, which are listed in the PDR Pocket Guide to Prescription Drugs: abdominal pain and/or distention, bone and joint pain, constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, muscle pain, nausea, acid backup, difficulty swallowing, esophageal ulcers, bleeding, or even blockage, gas, headache, vomiting, changes in taste, inflammation of the stomach, rash, skin redness, allergic reaction, etc.

Are you willing to risk any of that potential damage to your body in order to prevent osteoporosis, or restore bone density, when there are nutritional products which will provide the same benefit without any risk of side effects ? And for 1/16th the price ? If you'd like to own The PDR Pocket Guide to Prescription Drugs so you can see what kind of damage other drugs you're taking might be causing to your body, Click here to purchase The PDR Guide.

But, getting back to Donna, intelligent woman that she is, she opted for the calcium supplement. Twelve days later, her orthopedist was astonished that the fracture had healed so quickly. He couldn't find it anymore on the new x-ray. His patient was in no discomfort, but the doctor advised her to rest the foot for a couple more weeks anyway, which Donna did. She resumed playing tennis after six weeks, instead of the twelve her doctor had originally advised.

So we know that good nutrition is an important factor not only in battling illnesses. It also helps the body recover much faster from injuries. Speaking of injuries, let us tell you the story about Dr. S Bary, who practiced traditional western medicine for more than 30 years on the west coast, as an orthopedic surgeon. Over three decades, Dr. S Bary became frustrated as he realized that western medical treatments are simply ineffective for back injury patients. Back surgery costs in excess of $50,000, causes the patient horrific discomfort, and eventually leads to more surgeries. No amount of surgery ever restores the patient to the physical condition he enjoyed before suffering the initial back injury.

About ten years ago, Dr. S Bary abandoned western medical treatments for back injuries and devoted himself to exploring alternative medical treatments. He bought a 10,000 pound magnet machine, which produced astounding results in treating patients' herniated discs. Instead of performing surgery, he treated patients repeatedly with the magnet. Dr. S Bary, the orthopedic surgeon, was able to completely repair herniated discs in his patients without resorting to surgery.

But don't get too happy too fast ... there was a major glitch that put a damper on the rejoicing. And it didn't have anything to do with patient dissatisfaction or lack of success in treatment. No. To the great dismay of both the doctor and his patients, they soon realized that traditional health insurance plans refused to cover the cost of Dr. S Bary's series of magnetic treatments. And reality came suddenly crashing down on many of his patients, who couldn't afford to pay $6000 out of their own pockets. So they were forced into back surgery instead. Can you imagine, being forced to make such a bad choice because your insurance won't cover the good choice?

You might remember reading in another section of this site (entitled Expensive Health Insurance) about traditional health insurance companies being just plain stupid sometimes. Well this is one of those times. Why on earth would an insurance company refuse to spend $6000 to have a herniated spinal disc permanently healed, when it will instead authorize ten times that amount for the same patient to have his back permanently destroyed by a surgeon. The magnet must not fit in (again) with insurance company protocol.

We could go on and on with stories of people suffering from the entire spectrum of illnesses, who have experienced extremely positive results through inexpensive, alternative treatments. The following are a few very simple tips that everybody should know for maintaining basic good health.

Using garlic reduced Mick's borderline hypertension (high blood pressure) from 140/90 to 110/62 within a few months. Garlic Complex. And garlic provided the added benefit of keeping mosquitos away because they don't like the smell or taste. Vitamin B6 is a natural diuretic, and also lowers hypertension.

Colloidal silver instantly kills a plethora of bacteria and microscopic creatures, including strep bacteria. Liquid Colloidal Silver. A few spritzes in the mouth does the trick. A few spritzes in the eye will heal conjunctivitis (pink eye). Spraying on the skin will prevent infection in a wound. Western medical doctors prescribe far too many antibiotic drugs, which causes more resistant strains of bacteria to evolve.

Colloidal silver does not have that effect. Colloidal silver doesn't have an expiration date, like antibiotics do, so you can keep it around the house indefinitely. Having it on hand saves the cost of a doctor visit every time someone has an ear infection. A $30 bottle contains enough silver for 12 applications.

High doses of Vitamin A in liquid beta-carotene form also cause your body to attack and kill infection-causing bacteria within hours. Liquid Vitamin A. You can avoid doctor visits entirely for treating an infection.

We've just given you some simple wellness tips, and we previously told you about some pretty interesting case histories. Now we'll relate some pretty incredible case histories, that even we might not have believed, had we not seen them first hand.

Pat's prostate cancer was completely eradicated using only nutrition. He tried to convince three friends, who were diagnosed with various cancers at about the same time he was, to at least try the products he was using. All three opted for chemotherapy, radiation, traditional western treatments. Two years later, all three of Pat's friends were dead, while Pat never missed a beat. Insurance companies paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in claims for the three cancer patients, who all died despite the money spent, yet they wouldn't spend a few dollars for Pat's nutrition supplements. In the end, Pat wasn't unhappy with his decision to pay for supplements himself.

But that's not even the best story we're going to share. We also want you to know about John, who, at age 45, was dying of liver disease. A combination of prescription drugs for stomach ulcers and a passion for beer had destroyed John's liver. His health declined dramatically until he was finally added to the waiting list for a liver transplant. His insurance company pre-authorized the procedure, and he was nearly bedridden waiting for the hospital's pager to go off, alerting him that someone else had died so he could have another chance at living.

One day John made a phone call to his insurance agent and informed her that he'd decided not to go through with the transplant. He sounded very weak, and the agent was pretty stunned by the phone call, assuming that he'd decided to give up and die at such a young age. But that wasn't what was happening at all. John had phoned his agent to inform her that he'd done a lot of reading during his illness about herbal therapy for liver disease, was pretty certain that it would cure (his term, not ours!) his liver, and that he'd made a decision to proceed with alternative care. He wondered if his health insurance would cover it.

The agent, still recovering from the shock of his initial statement, informed him that, no, unfortunately his health insurance policy wouldn't cover herbal medicine, and that, in fact, no insurance policy anywhere would cover it. John was disappointed, but he was determined to follow through. He'd found a Chinese herbal therapist/acupuncturist with 40 years experience, who had a mentor with 60 years experience, just in case he got stumped over a medical problem. John's daughter agreed to drive him 50 miles to see the alternative doctor because John was too weak to drive himself. The agent asked John to keep her posted on his progress.

Two weeks later, John phoned his agent for that promised update. He'd consulted Dr. Wu. John didn't immediately tell the herbalist the extent of his problems, because he wanted to test the doctor's skill. But Dr. Wu knew precisely what was going on soon after he placed his fingers at certain points on John's hands. John told Dr. Wu quite bluntly that he didn't have time or energy to waste. He needed to know if Dr. Wu could cure him. The doctor humbly apologized that it would take 12-15 treatments instead of the usual 3-4 needed to restore a patient to health, and that it would cost $1200. He advised John that insurance probably would not cover herbs and that he'd have to pay out of his own pocket.

John required more clarification. He told the doctor that he didn't want to be just treated ... he wanted to be cured. John asked Dr. Wu again quite bluntly if he could actually cure his liver. Dr. Wu told him he could. So John went home with several jars of herbal concoctions, out of which he was supposed to make tea. John was diligent about following Dr. Wu's instructions, even though the tea concoctions were the nastiest tasting stuff he had ever put in his mouth. And to everyone's astonishment, within two weeks John was sitting up in his living room watching TV. Within six weeks he was back out in his boat again, catching his dinner from the lake. Within three months, John was back at work selling real estate.

John's insurance company was unwilling to pay $1200 for herbal therapy to repair John's destroyed liver. (Must have something to do with that nasty "protocol" again.) But they did pre-authorize a $250,000 liver transplant surgery, which might have added five years to John's life. The quarter million dollar surgery price didn't include the cost of follow-up care that would have been required. Anti-rejection drugs at about $1000 per month for life, repeated trips to the emergency room for the slightest fever or indication of infection, hospital stays for days at a time if the anti-rejection drugs caused the body's immune defenses to drop too low, or if the immune defense was too strong and triggered a rejection of the organ. John's miraculous liver restoration was 15 years ago. Western medical procedures cost double that amount today. And today traditional insurance companies still pay for liver transplants and do NOT pay for herbs. Stupid ? Yes, no matter which way you look at it.

Let us tell you one other little secret before we close, a secret that pharmaceutical companies would go to great lengths to protect. In our SOS for Health Insurance section, we discussed the fact that drug companies charge patients in the U.S. in excess of $2000 per month for a cocktail of drugs which inhibit the HIV virus, to prevent it from progressing to full-blown AIDS. Drug companies would have us believe that we need to spend massive fortunes treating HIV while they spend massive fortunes searching for a cure. Right ? Well we thought we'd pass along a well-kept secret. In laboratory testing, simple maitake mushroom extract alone has killed new HIV virus dead. We thought you ought to know.
